MassChallenge
Description
MassChallenge is the world's largest zero-equity startup accelerator, a global nonprofit network supporting innovators solving massive challenges. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Boston, MassChallenge operates programs in the United States (Boston, Dallas), Switzerland, Israel, and Mexico. The organization has accelerated 6,000+ startups across all industries that have collectively raised over $16 billion, created 77,000+ jobs, and achieved a 70% survival rate.
Unlike traditional accelerators, MassChallenge takes zero equity and charges no fees. The organization awards over $2M in cash prizes annually and provides intensive mentorship from 6,000+ volunteer experts, corporate leaders, and investors. Programs include early-stage accelerators (industry-agnostic), challenge programs (industry-specific for later-stage startups), and specialized tracks in Healthcare, Climate, FinTech, Security & Resiliency, and Sustainable Food Systems.
For ZHC builders, MassChallenge offers a unique value proposition: world-class acceleration, global network access, and potential cash prizes without giving up equity. The organization's focus on social impact, diversity (44% female founders in recent cohorts), and founder support makes it ideal for mission-driven entrepreneurs across all sectors.
